Defeated by Justice came full circle.

Defeated by Justice by Ina Brink was published on 31 March 2022 by Austin Macauley UK. This novel is the first published work by the South African author.  Although the author has been actively writing for over fifteen years, she only recently submitted one of her works for publication.

Defeated by Justice is a work of historically-accurate erotic fiction that is an assimilation of true events, probable hearsay and possible conjecture, as experienced by the writer. Set against the backdrop of South Africa in the early 1990s, with Apartheid in its final throes and society in turbulent transition from virtual dictatorship to democracy, the main character enters the South African Police Force, by necessity rather than design, to flee her own tempestuous and unsure personal circumstances.

Initially the book was only available online at all major book retailers world-wide, but has since found shelf space at smaller bookshops and online retailers. Within three months of publication, it became available at online retailers in South Africa as well and in the words of the author, at that time: “I dream of the day I can see my book on the shelves of bookstores in my own country.”

Fast-forward to the one-year anniversary of the publication date of Defeated by Justice, where the book came full circle and a dream came true. Defeated by Justice took its proud space on the shelves of one of South Africa’s larges book retailers, Exclusive Books.
